UK Poker Pros

UK Poker Pros

UK poker pros are the 2nd highest earners at the WSOP with over $270 million in winnings. Yet in 2011 not a single UK pro has ever won the main event.

So when the World is still to be conquered, which UK poker pro can claim to be the greatest poker player in history? Only those who take on the best playing at their best, excelling at the World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour.

Roland "The Sheep" De Wolfe

In 2011 London born Roland De Wolfe is the ONLY UK poker pro to achieve the Grand Slam in poker, winning a WSOP bracelet, a WPT event and EPT title.

UK poker professional Roland De Wolfe

De Wolfe won a WSOP bracelet in 2009 playing Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 and the World Poker Tour Grand Prix of Paris in 2005. His WSOP earnings alone exceed $1.2 million. The greatest UK poker pro?

Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott

Born in Kingston Upon Hull, no other UK poker pro comes close to Ulliott's profile. Devilfish backs up this fearsome reputation with blinding poker talent.

UK poker professional Praz Bansi

Ulliott won his only WSOP bracelet in 1997 playing a Pot-Limit Hold'em $2,000 buy in event and has cashed out 31 times at the WSOP, double the amount of any other UK player. In 2003 Ulliott won the WPT World Poker Open and his WSOP earnings alone top $1.6 million. A legend of UK poker.

Pramesh "Praz" Bansi

In 2011 London born Pramesh Bansi is the only UK poker pro to boast TWO World Series of Poker bracelets and has accrued earnings over $1.5 million.

UK poker professional Praz Bansi

Bansi won his bracelets in the 2006 WSOP No-Limit Hold'em $1,000 buy in event and the 2010 No-Limit Hold'em $1,500 buy-in. In 2009 Bansi placed 3rd in the World Series of Poker Europe main event. Not bad for a UK poker pro who only picked up his poker cards in 2005!

John Gale

In 2011 London born Gale is one of only three UK poker pros to win a WSOP and WPT title. In 2006 he won the WSOP Pot-Limit Hold'em $2,500 buy in. In 2005 Gale won the WPT Caribbean Poker Adventure tourney.

Other WSOP Bracelet Winners

In 2010 Stanmore born James Bord won the WSOP Europe Main Event, a bracelet and the $1,316,550 prize. In 2007 London's Ram Vaswani won the WSOP Limit Hold'em Shootout $1,500 buy in event.

Finally a mention for Manchester's own Julian Gardner and London's James Akenhead. Not a bracelet between them, but they are the only UK poker professionals to ever make the final table of the WSOP No-Limit Hold'em main event. Gardner came closest and was runner up in 2002, banking $1,100,100 for his trouble. Akenhead was 9th in 2009 and had to settle for $1,263,602!
